 Beekeeping is a fantastic hobby. Those who get into beekeeping often get what is called "bee fever." This is a hobby with many facets and gives almost anyone an opportunity to learn more about nature and the role of the productive honey bee. I would like you to visit often. I am a semi-retired commercial beekeeper, life member of EAS and the Ohio State Beekeepers Association, and A master beekeeper recognized by EAS.  We think that the advantages of this frame are as follows:
1. The 4.9mm i.d. cell size has been reported to contribute to significant decreases in Varroa mite infestation. In fact many have reported that the small cell size has eliminated the need to treat for the mite.
2. Drawing out comb requires 8 pounds of honey for each pound of wax produced. HSC fully drawn frames are ready to go to work immediately.
3. HSC frames are inert and will not harbor chemical residues like wax will.
4. HSC frames are unaffected by wax moth or hive beetle. |
